In Celebration of

Patricia Joan (nee Elliott) Kirkpatrick

January 21, 1933 - January 25, 2025

Patricia Joan (Elliott) Kirkpatrick passed away on January 25th, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on January 21, 1933 in Calgary but spent her formative years in Goderich, Ontario and attended the University of Toronto where she met Bill Kirkpatrick, whom she married in 1955.

Their married life took them to two US states and two provinces where Joan made many friends along the way. She never flinched at buying/selling houses, packing up and settling four children into schools or joining local activities.

She was an avid cook, seamstress, badminton and bridge player. Once the children were grown Joan took on several career challenges from real estate to rent reviewing for the City of Toronto Metro Housing.

Joan and Bill had many wonderful years together, sailing Lake Ontario, travelling extensively, enjoying family and friends at home or at the family cottage. They were an adventurous pair, flying in Bill’s small plane, travelling the world, Kenya, New Zealand, Myanmar and all over Canada, the US and Mexico.

Joan is survived by four children, Wendy Crosby (Bob), Heather Cruickshank (Ian), David Kirkpatrick (Robin), Karen Lowe (Ron) and five grandchildren (Tom Crosby, Andrew and Kate Cruickshank, Alexandra and James Lowe). She is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Bill Kirkpatrick and her grandson Nicholas Crosby.

Joan was a kind and loving mother much loved by her children and grandchildren.

A private memorial will take place later this year.
