In Celebration of

Patricia Anne Cosgrove

September 2, 1929 -  October 25, 2020

Passed away at Linhaven Long Term Care Centre, St. Catharines, on Sunday, October 25, 2020.

Born September 2, 1929 in Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire. Beloved wife of the late James Francis Cosgrove of Galway. They grew up on farms. Married in Toronto in 1955. Mother of Peter, John and Paul. Mother-in-law of Rosaleen and Monica. Grandmother of Emma and Ben, Jennifer and Melanie, Meghan and Kevin. Great-grandmother of Isabelle and Alexander Setlakwe. Daughter of the late Richard Stonier and Cecilia Wilkes. Youngest sister of the late Bernard, Ernest, Mary, Edmund, Rupert, Celia, Rt. Rev. Peter and Philip. Survived by sister-in-law Maureen Spelman, Galway; and many English and Irish nieces and nephews.
Polite, patient, religious and very hard working: the first week of December 1963 will go down in history. As the boys grew older she worked for NACCU and CCCS. She helped build the cottage on the Naiscoot River; right out of the woods.

She loved flowers and gardening. She enjoyed reading the Toronto Daily Star, cooking roasts, baking, knitting, pet cats, Leonard Cohen, drawing and painting. With arms and wrists gently swinging by her sides, she would happily declare,

“Oh I am pleased”.

A private family service will be held, followed by interment at Assumption Cemetery.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca

A lovely Aunt, always welcoming and caring. She never hesitated to take in guests and was a wonderful hostess. Her care for all the members of her family was endless, no fuss, just simply looking after their physical needs and available to chat over any problems in their lives.
I will miss you, my dear Godmother. May you rest in peace with the people you love.
