Patricia Ann Carter

November 21, 1934 - October 15, 2023

Passed away peacefully at Sheridan Villa Nursing Home at the age of 88. Predeceased by her first husband Terry (1996). Loving mother to Michael, Caryn, Nicky, Lee and Julie. She will be immeasurably missed by her second husband Thomas Carter as well as her sons-in-law Steve, Roger and Harry and daughter-in-law Nadia, as well as many friends and relatives both in Canada and UK.
Much loved by her 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are being held on Tuesday October 24th 1:00 p.m. (family and friends welcome any time after noon) followed by a celebration of Pat’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s name to any animal charity would be appreciated.

We are so very sorry for the loss of dear Aunt Pat. She will be remembered always for her lovely smile and warm greeting. Many memories of shared times with our family over the years.

From Cousin Ron Ramsden

Auntie Patsy and Uncle Terry lived in the upstairs rooms of Nan Ramsden’s and Grandad Fred’s home in Wiggington Avenue, Wembley which had been converted to a flat for them. They later moved home to the new town of Hemel Hempstead, where I used to love to visit.

One of my birthdays they visited us in Wembley and gave me a dog lead and collar - ‘what did I need these for?’, then Barbara presented me with a puppy, who we named Rex.

I went to Euston Station with Nan and Grandad to waive the family off when they emigrated to Canada, and sadly said goodbye to Caryn, Michael and Nicky.

It was many years later that Patsy and Terry returned to England for a visit.

My parents moved to a house in Ringwood Road, Eastbourne where Patsy and Terry stayed, and this was when we met them again showing them our own two young boys; we all got on so well together, giving us the idea we may even visit Canada one day, which we did in 1976. Pat lent us many bits and pieces to furnish our apartment where we lived in Don Mills.

We’ve been lucky to see the family quite a few times since then when they’ve visited England and we came again to Canada 2012 and 2022.

Patsy will be so well remembered by me and my family for the times we’ve spent happily together.

Dear Caryn
I was so sad to hear from Ron about the passing of your mum and my cousin. I know it has been many years since I have seen her but I have fond and happy memories of my times with her when we were so much younger. I have one special memory of her singing on stage at Wembley and dancing. She was so good. My friend Ann ( who has lived in Australia for many years) and I also enjoyed her tap and ballet classes.
I'm sure that all of you will miss her very much and I send my deepest sympathy.
I hope that maybe we will get the chance to meet again some time.
