In Celebration of

Paolina Picciuto

October 10, 1929 -  March 12, 2024

God called our mother, Paolina Picciuto, into His loving arms on March 12, 2024 at the age of 94.

Finally at peace in body and mind, Paolina is re-united with her husband, Giuseppe (2022) and daughter, Antonietta (1969).

Left to mourn her passing are her children Grace , Carmine and his wife Kim, Tony and his wife Darlene, grandchildren Rachel, Antonietta Hailey, Michael and Matteo and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth. She is survived by sister Teresa LaCute, brother Nick Romano and his wife Maria .Many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Mom was born in Roseto Valfortore, Italy in 1929 to Antonio Romano and Maria Figliola and arrived in Canada in 1953. She married our father, Giuseppe, by proxy who she then sponsored and upon joining her, settled in Etobicoke. Mom loved and cared for her family and worked hard her entire life in everything she did at work, at home, in the vegetable garden and at the cottage (in another vegetable garden).

Mom lived with dementia for several years before her passing but was a powerhouse of physical strength to her final hours. We are comforted knowing that she is now at peace.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., (Hwy. 10, N of the QEW) on Friday from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Our Lady of Peace Parish, 3914 Bloor Street West, Toronto at 11 a.m.

My sincerest condolences and prayers for the entire family. I can remember the many interesting conversations I had with Carm. I was blown away to discover that his mom was from Roseto Valfortore because my parents were also from that same town. I had the honour of meeting your mother last year up in Gravenhurst. A kind and lovely soul. May she rest in peace.
