In Celebration of

Panagiotis "Peter" Christeas

March 10, 1931 -  January 15, 2025

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Panagiotis “Peter” Christeas on January 15, 2025, at the age of 93. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Nicoletta; his beloved children, Kanella and Ted (Sandy); and his cherished grandchildren, Anthony Nero, Peter Nero, Peter Christeas and John Christeas.

Panagiotis “Peter” was born on March 10, 1931, in Parori, Laconia, Greece. In 1963, he emigrated to Toronto, Canada, with hopes of building a better future. Shortly after, in 1964, he met and married Nicoletta. Despite having no formal education, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. No matter the challenges he faced, his unwavering dedication and hard work laid the foundation for his family’s success. He devoted himself to ensuring his children had the opportunities he never had.

He could often be found tending his garden in the summer, taking long walks, or meeting friends for coffee at Dufferin Mall. He also had a deep love for Greek music, often reminiscing about his youthful memories and adventures. In retirement, he frequently traveled to his village of Parori in Greece, where he cherished spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his two loving sisters, Olga and Mary, as well as his many nieces and nephews, who were always close to his heart.

Though he is no longer with us, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May his memory be eternal.

Peter was always such a joy and positive man and we were blessed to know him. We live two doors down from him and our day would not be complete until he passed our house on one of his long long walks around the city. Despite the language barrier, I feel I knew him very well. I very much miss his ‘yuup!’ greeting and ‘boy?’ When he was enquiring about our son. Thinking about his generous smile and a flower always tucked behind his ear, I will miss him always.
