Ona was born in Selenai, Klaipeda County, Lithuania to Jurgis and Anika Kubilius. Ona was one of four girls and five boys. She grew up on the family farm and immigrated to Canada, arriving in Halifax NS on October 3, 1948 along with two of her sisters. Ona was the beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Davis Wheeley having been united in Holy Matrimony on January 31, 1959 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chicago, Illinois. Ona and Bill were devout and faithful long-standing members of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Etobicoke for years. Bill was an Elder of the Church for many years and the two were dearly loved by members of the congregation. Ona will be missed by her family, the Church members and many friends. Ona passed away peacefully, in her 98th year, at her residence in the Village of Humber Heights, on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023. Ona is survived by her brother William Kubilius, many nephews and nieces, and many great nephews and nieces. She was loved, she will be missed, and is now at rest. She has joined the Triumphant Church in the safe arms of Her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
