Our volunteer Ona died peacefully on our Palliative Care Unit on Thursday February 6th. She volunteered with us for 10 years donating over 1000 hours of her time. Ona was invested in doing her best for St. Joe's. Not only would she bring to our attention anything at the entrances that needed fixing but she was also an amazing PR person, encouraging patients, visitors and volunteers to try the great food in our Lakeside Café. Ona had the best collection of Christmas sweaters and ensured that we were dressed up for every holiday. She brought smiles and laughter to so many.
We will miss her dearly.

My heartfelt condolences to you Chris and Ruta and family members. She will be greatly missed at St. Leo's Church.
She greeted everyone with a cheerful hello and extended herself in volunteering not only at the church but at St. Joseph's Health Centre. She will be sadly missed.

I'll miss our days of obligations Mom.
I'll miss getting your texts about how things are going.
I am sorry that I wasn't the daughter you wanted me to be like how you were with Mama.
Sorry, I was really hoping you would live longer so I could have taken you away from your house like you did to Mama at 78.
I am sorry you suffered as long as you did and I could do nothing to help you.
