In Celebration of

Oksana Zolkewych

April 12, 1938 -  June 19, 2024

With her daughter by her side, Oksana passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024, at the age of 86, at the Ivan Franko Home in Toronto. She leaves behind daughter Luba (Bohdan), sister Christine, nieces Natalya and Marusia, and extended family throughout Canada, the United States and Ukraine.

Oksana will be remembered for her sunny disposition and winning smile, as well as her unwavering faith, devotion to family, and her love of classical music.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 6 pm to 9 pm, with a Panakhyda prayer service at 7 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 135 La Rose Avenue, on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 10 am. Interment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.

Oksana’s resilience, optimism and positive attitude will forever serve as an inspiration to all who knew her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests prayers for Oksana’s peaceful repose and, if desired, donations to Project Soniashyk (projectsoniashnyk.com), which organizes summer camps in Ukraine for children whose parents are active or fallen members of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, or to Ivan Franko Homes (ivanfrankohomes.com), the Ukrainian long-term care home where Oksana spent her last two years in a wonderful and supportive environment.

Dear Luba, Bobo, Teta Christia, Talia, Marusia and family,
I will miss Oksana’s beautiful face and smile at our gatherings up at Cawaja.
She enjoyed helping out at the church in the kitchen buffets where we would catch up on “gossip”…..
A lovely person with musical talent.
My Diadio Dzulynsky and her Father were good friends.
Two priests that came to Canada and did God’s work.
It’s a small world. Our children became friends.
Vichna ii Pamiat!
Sleep with the angels to the music of your beloved piano, sweet Oksano.
