In Celebration of

Oksana Nahirna

July 28, 1963 -  March 27, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mama and Baba Oksana who left us peacefully on March 27, 2025 at the age of 61, after a short but courageous battle with illness.

A devoted mother to her son Taras and his wife Alesia, and a proud, loving grandmother to Maksym and Marko, Oksana was the heart of her family. She is deeply mourned by her brother Myroslav and his wife Natalia, as well as by her extended family, dear friends, and colleagues from her teaching career in both Ukraine and Canada. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those she loved and taught will be profoundly missed.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Demetrius Church (135 La Rose Avenue) on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 10 am, followed by a interment at St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery in Oakville (1280 Dundas St. W, Oakville).

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Dorothy Ley Hospice, in gratitude for the compassionate care she received during her short stay there.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

May she Rest in Peace. Вічная Памʼять.

I still can't believe this news is real. You were an extraordinary person and teacher. You taught me and my brother so many things, you helped and guided us be extraordinary students and successful ones. You were a kind, gentle, and patient person who loved what she did. Who made an impact on so many students. Your warmth as a person was always welcoming, you made me and my brother feel belonged. Mrs. Nahirna was strict as a teacher, but throughout the years I grew to love and respect her as a teacher. She was who really taught my brother and I how to read and write, especially with a language barrier. It feels like yesterday we were bringing you a cake and presents as a "Happy Retirement" send off and now your gone. This reminds us of how short life is and we shouldn't take it for granted. We will always love you and you will always be with us. You will be always be one of those teachers that will always be remembered for her beautiful legacy.❤️ 💕 Sincerely Lorena(Grade 10) & Danilo (Grade 5) Iannucci
