In Celebration of

Oda Baek Raham

February 7, 1930 -  January 5, 2025

Suddenly on Sunday, January 5, a loving family and many admirers and friends lost a
cherished one to an unexpected fatal heart event.

Oda was born in Denmark on February 7, 1930. She was the middle child in a large and
loving family. On an extended trip to Canada she met her late husband, Karl. They were
married in Denmark in 1956 then moved to Michigan for Karl's work, where the three
boys, Niels, Bruce, and Karl were born.

The family moved to Streetsville in 1962 and joined the Streetsville United Church. In
1965 they welcomed daughter Lisa to the family and enjoyed many years in the
community.

After dedicating many years to raising her children, Oda joined the library staff at the
University of Toronto, Mississauga Campus, where she also earned a degree with a
focus on English, history and languages.

Oda had a deep passion for music and became accomplished on both piano and violin.
She balanced her love for music with her dedication to caring for her home, husband,
and family. Her talents extended to gardening and cooking, and she took pleasure in
literature, knitting, and sewing.

Both Karl and Oda loved to travel and enjoyed numerous trips back to Denmark along
with visits to many other countries throughout the world.
Oda is survived by her wonderful family, sons Niels (Susan), Bruce (Marilou), Karl
(Sarah), and daughter Lisa (David). Grandchildren Eric (Lori), Terry (Lisa), Cameron,
Erika (Quinn), Megan, Mikaela, Lindsay, step-grandchild Andrew, and great
grandchildren Ben, Karly, Eric, and Mads.

Also, stricken by Oda's passing, but so grateful for their too-few years together, is Oda's
later-life partner, Norm Clark, long-time friend of the Raham family and colleague of Karl
Sr.

Oda's beautiful, well-lived life will be celebrated at the Streetsville United Church on
January 23, 2025. Interment in the family gravesite, next to her husband, Karl will take
place soon thereafter.

I am grateful for Oda’s faithful presence at Streetsville United as I grew up in the church family.
Wonderful to learn of her accomplishments and that she earned her degree, and of a long life well lived.
