In Celebration of

Norman Roper

March 31, 1929 -  June 12, 2020

At home, on June 12, 2020, at the age of 91, surrounded by loved ones. Beloved husband of Sally for 62 years, and brother to John for longer. Loving father to Scott & Sandy, Nancy, Jim & Sara, and uncle to Paul. Grandfather to Jeremy, Jason, Michael, and Christopher.

Quietly caring and optimistic, Norman always looked to lend a hand. He delighted in seeing the best in people and their successes. He treasured building the Avro Arrow replica with its team of volunteers.

Due to the pandemic, the family will host a Celebration of Life at his church at a later time. In Norman’s memory, donations may be made to Humber Valley United Church. Online condolences may be shared through www.turnerporter.ca

Deep feelings of sadness at Norm's death mixed with deep gratitude that he was part of our life. As I have said many times, I loved shaking Norm's rough, calloused hand since those hands represented so many good works loving contributed over the years. May the Peace of Christ rest gently on all generations of the Roper family.

Our thoughts are with the Roper family as you mourn the loss of a special man. One of our best memories of Norm was at the annual Courtsfield ice cream social that the Roper family organized. He was always front and centre dishing out the ice cream, entertaining the children and welcoming newcomers.

Treasure those memories.
