In Celebration of

Neonila Burlaka

November 12, 1925 -  May 24, 2019

Passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre on May 24, 2019. Survived by her only daughter Halyna Klid (Bohdan). Born in Ukraine, she had a long, eventful and sometimes difficult life, but now she is at her well earned resting place. Neonila will be fondly remembered by her friends and relatives in Ukraine and Canada, as well as by many friends and neighbours of her daughter and son-in-law, who cherished her company, enjoyed her beautiful singing of Ukrainian folk songs, storytelling, gardening skills, and her good humour while visiting them, first, in Edmonton, and later on an acreage near Devon, AB.

The family is grateful to Neonila’s last rites priest, Rev. Fr. Dr. Roman I. Shiyan (UOCC, Lac La Biche Parochial District, Alberta). Caring and compassionate preparations for traditional services were arranged by Park Memorial Funeral Home (Edmonton).

Funeral services with Rev. Dr. Jaroslaw Buciora officiating to be held on May 30, 2019 at 10 a.m. (visitation starting from 9 a.m.) in the All Saints of Ukraine Chapel with burial to follow at St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery (both at 1280 Dundas Street West, Oakville).
