In Celebration of

Rev. Dr. Neil Ronald Parker

February 16, 1948 -  April 21, 2023

Rev. Dr. Neil Ronald Parker, BSc. MDiv. ThD passed away on Friday April 27.

Neil was a minister within the United Church of Canada serving congregations primarily in the rural areas outside of Toronto. He enjoyed his scholarly work having published two books and translating a number of works from German to English, but he particularly valued the sense of community inherent in congregational ministry and the opportunity to nurture the faith journeys of the people he served.

His ministry was influenced by his commitment to social justice, strengthening multi faith relationships and the environment. His love of the environment was evident through time spent at his cottage on Limerick Lake where he could be found gardening, bird watching, boating and enjoying the comradery of his Green’s Bay neighbours.

Neil is survived by his wife Linda Pennock, and their family: Meredith & Joel Dempster, Carolyn Bergshoeff & Eddy Sword, Donna and Richard Jupe and grandchildren Jack, Ava, Andrew, William and Sloan, as well as his brother Art and Joy Parker. Neil is predeceased by his first wife Edie.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to The Canadian Cancer Society, St. James Food Basket, or a charitable organization of your choice.

Neil is our friend since the first day he arrived at Limerick Lake more than 35 years ago. In that time we have shared dinners, drinks and good conversations, along with the many laughs and frustrations that come with cottage ownership. Neil's generous nature and welcoming persona made our lives better and richer.
Angela and I miss you. Rest Peacefully. Leo

Dear Linda and Family,
Gary and I were so very shocked and sorry to hear of the passing of your dear husband Neil. We are sending our love and prayers. It is so difficult to say goodbye to the ones we love but we know, and we know that you know, that we will see them again one day.

May the Lord bless you with peace and may your lovely memories of him help to comfort you in the days ahead.

Love Gary and Sharon
