In Celebration of

Nancy Yu

July 13, 1961 -  August 27, 2019

After a courageous battle with cancer, Nancy passed away peacefully on August 27th, 2019 surrounded by her family. Much loved daughter to Kam Sun Yu and sister to Susan & Ryan Dukhedin-Lalla, Allan & Melanie Yu and Kenny Yu. She was so proud of her 2 nieces, Elcina Dukhedin-Lalla and Hailey Yu and they will have very fond memories of their Aunt Nancy who spoiled them rotten. She loved helping Ken look after their dog Dallas. Nancy had a generous spirit, passion for life and caring attitude which she carried into her daily interactions with both her family and her many friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be much appreciated.

Nancy was a loyal and true friend!
She could always be counted on for love and support. She doted on our children and our canine children as well. We are so sad and will miss her happy voice and caring feel. We know she is in a better place and telling stories from above.
Rest In Peace dear friend xo
Nancy you were one of the really good ones !

As has been written hundreds of times on social media, Nancy was a stalwart leader and calm inspiration in her business. Not one of us doesn’t have a funny story about seeing Nancy spinning a million plates, kicking ass, and taking names - all while silently winking and nodding to those around her. A standout in a sea of same same. I was not a close friend but I always considered myself lucky to be in her orbit when I saw her. Rest in power, Nancy - your legacy lives in the ol’ broads in the biz and the newer ones who will no doubt hear wonderful Nancy anecdotes for decades to come.

My condolences to the family and friends of Nancy Yu. I had the great privilege of knowing and interacting with Nancy during the many years I was at Citytv. Nancy never wavered on her commitment to professionalism and fairness. Always there with a smile and a solution. Her kindness and generosity of spirit will never be forgotten. Rest Easy Nancy.
