In Celebration of

Nancy Elizabeth Clayton

March 18, 1981 -  January 8, 2025

Peacefully, on Wednesday January 8, 2025, at Toronto General Hospital, in her 44th year.

Daughter of Mary Elizabeth Wallace and the late Barry Western Clayton. Nancy grew up in Toronto, attending Leaside High School, and later, the University of Western Ontario. Upon graduation, Nancy worked at Softchoice Inc., rising to a managerial position in the Tech Check and Software Asset Management team.

In 2021, Nancy left the company to concentrate on raising her two young children, to whom she was entirely devoted. She enjoyed volunteering at Pauline Junior Public School, contributing to special classroom events, chaperoning field trips, contributing to bake sales and she was routinely front row centre for her children’s games, concerts and talent shows.

An avid chef and caterer, Nancy baked cakes for birthdays and weddings, made dessert trays and peanut brittle for casual gatherings, and threw elaborate and elegant parties. Watching guests and loved ones enjoy her creations gave her immense joy, so much so that she routinely celebrated her own birthdays by hosting dinner parties in her home.

Nancy is survived by her husband Hugh March; her children Evelyn and Hank; her brother Dennis (Emily); her mother, Mary Wallace, and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Matthew, in infancy.

The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff of the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Toronto General Hospital. The level of care Nancy received was exemplary.

Visitation will take place at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West (at Windermere, east of the Jane subway station) on Thursday January 16, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-9:00 pm. A celebration of Nancy’s life will take place in the Chapel on Friday January 17, 2025 at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any charity.

My sincere condolences to Nancys family and friends. Nancy was an absolute joy to work with and I was also lucky enough to travel and room with her in Vegas. She was always a friendly, warm and fun person to spend time with. I'm very sad to hear she has passed away and will cherish the fond memories I have of her.
