In Celebration of

Nancy Anne Arthur

December 29, 1940 -  January 30, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Anne Arthur, who left us peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the age of 84.

Nancy was born in Port Credit, Ontario on December 29, 1940. Nancy remained in Port Credit as she grew up and made many “Port Credit friends” and memories she cherished throughout her life. Nancy left Port Credit after marrying and settling into her home in Etobicoke, Ontario, in 1962, where she lived for 63 years. She was happy to be able to remain in her home until her passing. She had many fond memories of friends and neighbours made over the years and enjoyed being in her garden, her pride and joy.

Nancy was a master knitter, with her knitting never far from her side. Each year she would lovingly make hundreds of scarves that she would donate to various out-of-the-cold charities and wherever needed. Her scarves and generosity will be greatly missed! She was also an avid gardener and took pride in her garden each year and enjoyed the many compliments she received from passersby.

Nancy was a loving mother to her son (Scott Arthur), daughter (Jana Arthur-Mahedy) and son-in-law (Sean Mahedy). She was predeceased by her ex-husband (Shaun Arthur) and son-in-law (Arden Leung).

A cherished friend to Lorraine Lawrence, Dorothy Chrysler and Robin, Kim & James Gerus, her many stories and laugher (and in the case of the Gerus’ Nan’s roast beef dinners & lemon meringue pie) will be dearly missed.

She was animal lover, having had cats her entire life, and will be missed by her cat Reggie! In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any humaine society or cat rescue organization of your choosing.

Mom, you will be dearly missed by Scott, Jana and Sean. We will take comfort in our memories of you, and you will be forever in our hearts. You are at peace now; in your garden, no doubt with cats by your side, and knitting with those golden knitting needles you so lovingly earned!

Family and friends are invited to Turner & Porter, Peel Chapel at 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, Ontario on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 2:00 p.m until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m.

Kimberly, James, and I are saddened to hear of the passing of our beloved past neighbor Nancy (Nann). We will cherish wonderful memories of past times with wonderful dinners, desserts, and tea time as we caught up on the neighborhood gossip. We were blessed to have had such wonderful and trusting neighbor's who taught our son James all about Thomas the Tank Engine Train series. Thank you Nann for a lifetime of memories. May you rest in piece. God bless.
With love, from the Gerus family.

Kathy King (Dear Friend)

My deepest condolences to Jana, Sean and Scott. On behalf of the Hurst and King family, I set up a monthly subscription to the Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in memory of your Mom who was a long time friend from Port Credit and continued the friendship with visits to the Hurst farm near Orrville. Although your mom was an avid knitter, I also want to mention I still have my crocheted tablecloth your mom made for my wedding present in 1979. I will cherish it always.
Love and Light
Kathy King
