In Celebration of

Miles Alexis Sosa

July 17, 1941 -  May 24, 2022

Passed away peacefully, on May 24, 2022, at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Toronto. Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad on July 17, 1941. His early life in Trinidad was extremely full, as he was an accomplished scholar, renowned athlete and elite footballer. Miles came to Canada in 1967 and attended the University of Toronto. He worked for the Ontario Government as an auditor until 1996. But his greatest accomplishments were made doing the things he loved.

He toured Canada, singing and playing guitar with the Undergrad's and was a proud supporter of Caribana. His presence was also felt at Irie Soccer Club, George Brown College and the Hummingbird's Basketball teams. Once retired he returned to Trinidad to donate his time to his beloved St. Mary's College (CIC).

Miles is now reunited with his mother Gwendoline, father Hypolite, siblings Jacqueline, Shirley, Ann-Marie, Michael and Keith. He leaves behind his wife Julie, children, grandchildren and siblings Greta, Kathleen, Bunny, and Junior.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St, Mississauga (N. of the QEW), on Saturday June 11, 2022, at 3 p.m. with visitation starting at 2 pm. If you are unable to join us in person, the service will be livestreamed; please join online at that time or later via link below (link will be provided on June 10). Tea and coffee is being served afterwards.

Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation. We encourage you to share your condolences, photos and memories using this website.
