In Celebration of

Mikulas “Mike/Miki” Schwertner

March 8, 1943 -  June 17, 2024

With great sorrow, we unexpectedly lost the pillar of our family on June 17th. Father’s day was spent celebrating surrounded by family merely hours before tragedy struck and he left us to join his daughter Nicole, wife Emma and mother Elizabeth.

He leaves behind an amazing legacy and impact on the family he truly always gave his everything to. His son Martin, wife Shabana and kids Nicholas, Nikyla, Sariah & Kiyana spent precious time with ‘Opa’ on a daily basis that will leave cherished memories and an example to follow for a lifetime. Every tear quickly turns to laughter when thinking of him and that's exactly how he would have wanted it.

Saturday July 6th 2024, from 2-4pm at Turner & Porter, 2357 Bloor St W, we will be welcoming his loved ones to say an in person good-bye before heading to the Schwertner residence to celebrate his life and the blessing it was to all that he so deeply touched.

We have fond memories of times spent with Miki. He was a wonderful man, known for his remarkable warmth, compassion and humour. It was always so evident that Miki had a very special and endearing relationship with Martin, Shabana, and his beloved grandchildren. His face would light up whenever he discussed their latest shared adventures or achievements. They brought such joy to his life.
His kindness will never be forgotten.
With caring thoughts,
Ruth & Jan Svihra

Miki was a great friend and neighbor. He will be remembered and missed by very many friends and family.

Our condolences to Martin, Shabana & family. The grandchildren will be likely missing him most - he lived for them and loved them very much!

Will be remembered by all Zamecniks'

I cannot think of any person nicer person than Miki. He was always cheerful, always full of good ideas, never criticized anybody, proud of his children and grandchildren. Miki brought joy and happiness to all who knew him. We will miss him but he will remain in our memories.
