In Celebration of

Mike Piorczynski

January 17, 1926 -  May 28, 2025

Peacefully at home in Mississauga on May 28, 2025, in his 100th year.

Born in Lubartów, Poland, Mike immigrated to Canada as a child and went on to build a successful business and live a truly remarkable life. He was known for his dry humour, sharp wit, and unwavering work ethic — a man of deep determination and a steadfast commitment to provide for those he loved.

Mike's quiet strength and resilience carried him through life’s toughest challenges. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Frances Piorczynski of 75 years, and his cherished daughter, Marion Wickens.

His legacy lives on through his daughter, Sharon Anderson; his grandchildren, Jacquie Wickens (Mark), Spencer Anderson (Shannon), and Sydney Wickens; and his great-grandchildren, Zachary and Lillian, who brought great joy to his later years. Mike will be deeply missed by his extended family, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends — all of whom were touched by his humour, generosity, and steadfast character.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated caregivers whose compassion and support allowed Mike to maintain his independence with dignity.

Friends and Family may visit at Turner & Porter 'Peel' Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy 10, north of QEW), on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral service to be held in the chapel on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment at Springcreek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dorothy Ley Hospice or the Trillium Health Foundation.

With a colorful tongue and a demeanor so gruff,
He played the tough character, that was enough.
But watch him enjoy the fish I would prepare,
And a different side, he would willingly share.

A hard outer shell, that's what many would see,
But a soft, caring heart, lived inside, wild and free.
He cherished the children, with a gentle embrace,
And family, his anchor, holding pride of place.

Now a profound sadness, as I say my goodbyes,
I'll miss his gruff humor, and those knowing eyes.
The moments of caring, a gift I embrace,
His memory lives on, in this time and space.

Now you’re one in those stars, watching and guiding us.
It was an honor to know you and be a part of your family.
Being a part of your private care was one of my fondest memory,
In my long time career as caregiver. Thank you for giving me that opportunity Papa.. Rest easy until I see you again. You’re always in my heart!!!

My deepest sympathy to Sharon, Jaquie, Sydney, Spencer,Shannon, Mark and to all of Mike’s love ones, whom he cherished all his life.

Mike, it's hard to believe you're gone. Every time I think of you, I hear your voice asking, 'How's your work? How many cars did you sell today?' It wasn't just a small talk; it was your way of sharing in my world, of guiding me. Then you'd talk about the drive, the highways, and the ins and outs of the business, always teaching me something new. You had a way of making me feel seen, like my everyday efforts mattered. And I can still picture you asking what time I'd come to pick Mahalia up, always making sure she was taken care of. Those Tim Hortons coffee runs for you were more than just a quick stop; they were a quiet ritual, a moment of connection that I'll forever hold dear. Your wisdom, your presence, your unwavering interest in our lives – these are the things I'll carry with me always. You're deeply missed.

My condolenses to Jaque and to her family. Know that I am with you in this time of your sorrows.

David
