In Celebration of
Mike Medak
September 24, 1961 -
January 9, 2024
In loving memory of Mike Medak.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mike Medak on January 9, 2024. His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound that is gravely felt by the entire family and countless others who loved him dearly. He is predeceased by his late father Mijo and mother Meri. Survived by wife Susan of 19 cherished years, Anton Dzeko (Sonya), Jasmine Malik (Nash), and cherished granddaughters Eliana, Capreece, Nora, Gianna, and Evalyn.
He is also survived by three sons from his previous marriage: Brandon, Mitchell, and Kyle; mother-in-law Sevda Lopac (predeceased father-in-law Branko); brother-in-law; sisters-in-law and their children; aunts; uncles; cousins; and dear friends and extended family in Canada, USA, Karlovac Croatia, and Australia.
Mike was an honourable, passionate, respectful, and kind human being who would drop everything to be there for you in any situation. He was a loving grandpa who spent quality time taking his grandchildren to Wasaga Beach with his orange gorilla wagon, ensuring they had all the water and sand toys and ‘granpa cookies’ as they spent beach day together. In the evening, roasting s’mores and hotdogs by his homemade fire pit and walks to the playground, or sometimes just laying on the couch and watching his granddaughters play as his heart filled with joy.
Mike also enjoyed the thrill, adventure, and sense of freedom that comes when taking his Harley Davidson Road Glide Ltd out for a ride. His passion for motorcycles led him to join the HRMC to ride together as a group, attend social occasions, and create life-long friendships (brotherhood).
Mike, as you are, you will always be treasured, forever in our memory.
