In Celebration of

Michael Wytiuk

December 12, 1935 -  September 25, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Nicholas Wytiuk at the age of 87. He died on September 25, 2023 in Toronto, Ontario. He is survived by his loving wife Bohdanna Rycar, his two sons, Bohdan/Bob (Violet) and Roman, and grandson, Matthew. He will be dearly missed by his stepdaughter Ulana Gorgi (Amir) and their three children, Adrian, James and Michael. He was predeceased by his first wife, the late Sophie Wytiuk.

Michael was born in Toronto, Ontario on December 12, 1935 and it is where he raised his family and gave back to the community. Starting his career at Scotiabank and retiring from Community Trust, Michael had a keen interest in finance. A staunch supporter of various causes that helped his Ukrainian heritage, Michael always made himself available whenever anyone or any organization needed a helping hand. Be it at Children of Chernobyl or for the Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy, Michael was the first to volunteer and lend his expertise and support.

Michael will be remembered for his kind disposition, generosity and wit. He will be missed by many who knew and loved him and will forever live in our hearts. Vichnaia Pamiat!

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 between 6-8pm at Turner & Porter, Yorke Chapel at 2357 Bloor Street West in Toronto. The funeral mass will take place at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church at 135 La Rose Avenue in Etobicoke on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 10am, immediately followed by interment at Prospect Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, be good to one another, create lasting happy memories and donate to Michael’s favourite charity, the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, if you feel so inclined.
