Michael Travers

January 15, 1947 -  December 9, 2024


It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Thomas Travers, at age of 77 in Wasaga Beach ON. Michael passed away peacefully on Dec 9th, 2024. Michael was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and a great friend to many. Known for his sharp wit and sense of humour, his kind heart and willingness to help others was legendary.

Michael was born on January 15th, 1947 in Toronto ON, to George and Kathleen. He attended Michael Power High school, The University of Toronto and spent 2 years in the Basilian Brothers seminary before meeting his wife of 51 years Judy. He lived a fulfilling life as a nurse and was passionate about helping others. He was a lover of sports, the arts and literature. He ardently attended all of his grandsons events until he was his impeded by his illness. Above all Michael is remembered for his love and support of his large family.

Michael is survived by his cherished wife, Judy Travers, his children Erin Baker (Brian), Michael Travers (Odette), Josh Travers (Amanda), and David (Avia), his dearest grandchildren whom he adored, Jack (Anna) and Ryan, his brother Bernard (Debbie) and sister Kathy (Ron), his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Kathleen, his brothers Patrick, David, Brian, Kevin and his sister Mary Lee.

Visitation to at Turner & Porter - Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario, Mississauga on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 2- 4 p.m & 6-9 p.m.

Funeral Mass at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 782 Browns Line, Toronto, on Saturday, December 14, 2024 11:00 a.m.

Reception to follow the funeral mass service at Port Credit Legion, 35 Front St. North, Mississauga, 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Association, in memory of Michael.

We are so profoundly sorry to learn of Mike's passing. Such great and joyous memories of sharing our friendship. My mind is racing with remembrance of those times. Mike was truly a great person.
