It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael (“Mike”) Forestell on December 3rd, 2022, at the age of 91 (a few days shy of his 92nd birthday). He was the dearly beloved husband of 59 years to Edith Caroline Forestell (Coates), and a loving father to Carol Putt (Phillip) and Julie Stewart (Kenneth). May he be the guardian angel to his grandsons Drew, Nathan and Braeden. Michael will be lovingly remembered by his family and many friends in the Toronto area and his hometown of Marmora where he spent many days at the family cottage where he enjoyed the “million-dollar view”. We will cherish all that he brought to our lives, his love and his strong Catholic faith. The family would like to extend many thanks to the doctors and nurses at Etobicoke General who helped take care of Michael and all his needs in his final moments.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gregory’s Church, Etobicoke at 122 Rathburn Rd, Toronto on Tuesday, December 13th at 11am. A celebration of life and interment will occur separately at a future date in the spring at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Marmora, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Etobicoke General Hospital or the Canadian Jesuits International.
