In Celebration of

Michael Evans

October 13, 1944 -  February 24, 2022

Michael passed away surrounded by his family on February 24, 2022. Michael was born in a castle in Matlock, Derbyshire, England on October 13, 1944, after his mother was evacuated from London during the Second World War. This was only the first of his many adventures. Michael lived in London, Accra, Texas, Toronto, and Mississauga. He loved to see and experience new things and always had an opinion on them. He will be missed immeasurably by his partner, Janet; his children, Owen (Dana) and Hera (Travis); his grandson, Arlo; and his many, many friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting your favourite local sushi restaurant (Dai Ichi at 3105 Winston Churchill Blvd, Mississauga is an excellent choice) or a charity that is meaningful to you.

A small gathering will be held on Sunday, February 27. Please contact the family for details.

Condolences to you, Janet, Hera, Owen and the rest of your family on the loss of Michael.

Janet, you were an amazing caregiver to him during his last few months.
I remember first meeting Michael at a house party one summer in Toronto with Donna and Jorge in the 80’s and then again when Hera was a little baby and I was back in Toronto. Sadly, I did not know him well, my loss.
A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts, through us, they live on. Although death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love does leave memories no one can steal.

Wishing you peace, to bring comfort, courage, to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your heart.

My heartfelt sympathy.

Hi Janet,
I’m so sorry for your loss. You were both so fortunate to have one another, and together create a loving family.
I hope your memories of happy times help to ease some of the grief you and your family are feeling.
Take care and don’t hesitate to reach out when you’re ready.

It is quite impossible to sum up my friendship with Michael in a few words. He was my employer for many years and my good friend. Michael was a delightful rogue who embraced life, was generous and kind to a fault.
I shall miss him immensely and will cherish the memories.

Now, if you don’t mind, I think I shall pour myself a bucket of Grand Marnier and get slightly gibbled.
