It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Merilou Pullen (née Dineno) on September 15, 2025, at her home in Etobicoke, Ontario. Born in Toronto on April 11, 1946, Merilou lived a life devoted to family, friendship, and community.

Merilou began her career as a registered nurse before transitioning to a long and fulfilling career as a legal secretary in wills and estates. Beyond her professional life, she was cherished for her warm heart, quick wit, and love of gathering people together. She found joy in reading, gardening, going to the theatre and especially in celebrating holidays and birthdays. Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas were her favourites—she delighted in decorating for the season, trimming the tree with her family, and sharing memories through cherished ornaments.

Family was the center of Merilou’s world. She loved vacations to the cottage and beach, spoiling her grandchildren, and surrounding herself with loved ones. She also deeply valued her friendships; her circle of friends, many of whom she had known for over 70 years, became an extension of her family and a constant source of love and joy throughout her life. Her kindness extended to her beloved dog Daisy and her grand-doggies Marley and Ruby, who were always welcomed with treats.

Merilou will be forever missed by her children, Vanessa Mooney (Brent) and Isaac Pullen (Nicole), and by her adored grandchildren Isabelle, Benjamin, and the late Olivia (born January 22, 2014 and passed June 7 2019). She is also lovingly remembered by her brother Paul Dineno, as well as by many extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Ida Dineno.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 3914 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M9B 1L7, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow in the church hall.

Merilou’s warmth, generosity, and love of family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
