In Celebration of

Maxance Gilbert Earle Spence

December 13, 2003 -  September 1, 2023

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Maxance Gilbert Earle Spence, age 19, on September 1, 2023, in Ottawa, Ontario. Maxance was looking forward to starting his third year at the University of Ottawa where he was studying for his Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in International Management.
Maxance will always be remembered for his loving smile and his quiet and humble nature. All his friends and co-workers referred to Maxance as “such a great and caring guy”. When Maxance was not studying at school he was spending his free time playing soccer and weight training at the gym. He played soccer for the University of Ottawa Varsity Team and his youth soccer for the City of Oakville Soccer Club (Competitive Rep Soccer). Maxance also spent much of his free time traveling and learning about the world with his family. Some of his favourite destinations included France, Spain, Portugal, Jamaica, Guadeloupe, Netherlands, England and most recently Japan in August 2023.

Maxance will be sorely missed by his parents Sean and Dominique as well as his younger sister Elaura. His paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother deeply mourn his passing. He will also be deeply missed by his uncles, aunts, and cousins who span across North America, Europe, and the Caribbean. Maxance has many friends from university, soccer, his employment, and the gym who all have reached out to the family and expressed their condolences and grief.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Turner and Porter / Neweduk-Erin Mills Chapel. Visiting hours will be Sunday, September 17th from 5 pm-8 pm. The funeral will be held privately for the immediate family on September 18th.
A Livestream of the service will be available online for anyone who would wish to join us virtually, click on the tab below.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to your local YMCA center. Maxance was a big advocate of physical fitness and believed in living a healthy and active lifestyle.

Maxance had such an incredible and quiet soul, and words can't describe how unfair this is. I am here for you at any time, day or night.

When grief is deepest, words are fewest.
Our deepest condolences.
