In Celebration of

Maurice (Moe) James Jenkins

November 24, 1937 -  January 13, 2022

Peacefully, on Thursday January 13, 2022, at Post Inn – Oakville (Long term care) at the age of 84.

In a constant state of mourning for his wife Marie who passed April 2013. Loving father to Angela Buckingham (John) and Ray Jenkins (Christina). Cherished grandfather to Eliza and Elsa. Predeceased by his brother Fred (January 2011) and mother Mary (October 1977). Remembered by his brother’s children (Susan, Allen, Lynn). Remembered by his sisters in-law Betty, Pat (Raymond) and Joni (John) and other family members including nieces and nephews on Marie’s side. Moe will be missed by his close friends Paul and Marg Davey and George Ciacinonaus.

We are very thankful to the Post Inn staff that were attached to our Dad on the 4th floor (Linden area.)

Moe was a gentleman through and through and generously tried to take care of his family right till the end. He was able to retire from his 38 year career in the Federal government (prominently in Customs and Excise/Drawbacks) at age 55 and enjoyed his retirement with his wife Marie. He also kept busy playing sports (baseball/basketball/golf) always with a competitive edge and was a very good athlete. He eventually retired from sports and umpired well into his 70’s. He was an avid sports fan and definitely attended every professionally sport that was offered in Toronto to watch.

Though his physical body failed him in his later life causing the majority of his consistent health issues, his mind remained sharp. He had a resourceful spirit and never give up attitude with an unwavering ability to comeback. We simply called it an out of this world WILL-POWER bordering a super-power. Because of this power, we were relatively surprised by his death and his decline but keeping in mind his wishes:
When it was his time, he wished to pass peacefully in his sleep (which he did at 3:45 am) and now he is at peace with his one true love Marie, which he also wished for.

Love you Dad…

A visitation and funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 for those who wish to attend please click the "register" button below to register your attendance.

Thank you Moe for always being there for Dad, Mom, Tracey, Herbie and I. Always my Dad's BFF. While not related by blood, he was an Uncle to me and will forever be in all our hearts.

While it's devastating to lose him, I'm glad he's reunited with dear Marie.

We will miss you so much.

I am very saddened to hear about the passing of Mr.Jenkins. My friendship with his son Ray has spanned over 25 years. My interactions with Mr. Jenkins was always filled with heart felt discussion and kindness. He was always a positive influence and I truly believe his legacy will live on through Ray - whom he was so proud of ! My deepest sympathies and condolences go out the the entire family during this very difficult time. My thoughts and prayers go out.

So sorry to hear of Moe's death. We always enjoyed his fun spirit at the ball games and in the bar after. He was a pleasant, fair person. He loved Marie and was lost without her. Rest in peace, Moe.
