In Celebration of

Maura Christina Walsh

May 22, 1937 -  June 29, 2024

Maura Walsh (née Harmon) passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Saturday, June 29, 2024 in her family home of 50 years, surrounded by her devoted husband and three children.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ken; daughter, Mairead; sons, Mark and Harmon; daughters-in-law, Elaine and Christine; grandchildren, Tegan, Kieran, Zahra, Lillian, and Levi; and her siblings, Connie, Patricia and James

Born in Abbeydorney, Co Kerry, Ireland, Maura will be remembered fondly as a warrior woman who refused to be defined. A teacher for more than 35 years, a real estate agent for more than 25, and a generous volunteer for much of her life, Maura always had something to do and something to say.

A proud Kerry woman of style and flair, and an active member in the Toronto Irish community supporting many cultural and charitable causes, she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, as anyone who met her has a great story to tell.

Visitation will be at Turner & Porter, 2357 Bloor St. W. Toronto, on Tuesday July 9, 2024 from 6-9 p.m. A Funeral service will be held at St. Cecilia’s Church, 161 Annette St. Toronto, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Indspire, or any charities in support of refugees.

She seemed a force of nature and made a wonderful, kind, caring son so while I didn’t know her, I know her impact. Love to all the family, and respect to the formidable woman. Much love to those grieving. X
