MaryAnn Leonora de Souza passed away peacefully on Monday August 26, 2019 at the age of 52. She came to Canada with her family from Uganda as a little child in 1972. She grew up in Mississauga and after having studied biochemistry at the University of Toronto, she decided to become a teacher. After getting her teaching degree, she worked at St Dominic Elementary School for more than 20 years.

Despite that she had been fighting cancer for seven long years, she was a very happy person, who enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends. She was also an amazing wife to Jesper, an incredible mother to Elina and Linnea, a wonderful daughter of the late Olinda and Laurie de Souza and an awesome sister to Douglas and Jude (Michelle).

She will be greatly missed by her family, relatives and friends.

Mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours Parish (1290 McBride Ave, Mississauga) at 11 am on Saturday, August 31, 2019. Reception will be held at St. Martin of Tours after the mass.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charitable organization will be appreciated.
