With deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Margaret Weech, known to all as Marg, on December 24, 2024 at Credit Valley Hospital.
Marg was the loving mother of Debbie (Weech) Stephens, (daughter)+(Mark) and Steven Weech (son) and Darlene Weech (daughter-in-law). She was a cherished Grandmother to Samantha, (Greg Williams), Teresa and Kurt, (Sydney). She was also a proud greatgrandmother to Owen and Madison Williams.
Mom is predeceased by her loving partner Jack Charlwood. (2015)
Marg was born and raised in Honeywood Ontario. She is predeceased by her parents Harold Chester Tupling and Elsie Tupling (nee Coe) and her brother Delbert Tupling and Lois Tupling (nee Aylwin) and her sister Ruth Micks (Keith). She lived the farm life for many years until her goals encouraged her to move to the city. She made a very brave move and in Toronto she worked as a secretary for a downtown firm and then went on to be a school secretary for a public school in the Toronto District School Board.
Marg and Jack retired to Wasaga Beach where they had many good friends and enjoyed community dinners, drives in the country, and working on making their home beautiful on the inside and outside. She loved cardinals and each one we see will remind us of how close she still is.
Marg’s lifestyle took a turn when she was 86 and as a result was unable to live on her own and moved in with Debbie in 2018. Together with family they journeyed recovery and then began another journey of dementia. Her earthly journey ended on December 24 with family at her side.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank her CBI PSW’s, her private PSW’s Sofia and Helen and their employer Just Like Family. Thanks to Reverend Maya and Reverend Roger for their visits and calming presence. Thanks to all those at the Credit Valley Hospital who cared for her this past month. Without exception all doctors and nurses were truly blessings.
We take comfort in knowing that she is now resting in peace. She will live forever in our hearts.
At the family’s request there will be a private service. Condolences can be sent to debbie.weech.stephens@outlook.com and donations in her name to Credit Valley Hospital Palliative Care or the Alzheimer's Society of Canada or Islington United Church would be welcomed.
