Mary Margaret “Peggy” Knubley (nee Sanders) passed gently from this life on July 26, 2024 in her 94th year surrounded by her family.
Born in Montreal on October 9, 1930, Peggy graduated from West Mount High School and then attended secretarial college at Miss Brown’s College. She went on to work in an administrative capacity with the Pulp and Paper Industry until she married Peter Russell “Russ” Knubley in 1955. Together they welcomed three children; Janet (Allan), Karen (Eric), Graham (Dawn) and later four grandchildren Drew, Karl (Rebekah), Shane, Abigail and one great-grandchild Jasper. She was predeceased by her husband Russ, her sister Marion Armstrong and brother Bill Sanders. She is survived by her twin sister Betty Henderson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Active in her community, Peggy also applied her artistic skills to needlepoint, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was also a regular and engaged bridge player.
Family and friends will greatly miss Peggy’s positive attitude and wry sense of humour.
