Mary (Baye) Gillies of Toronto, Ontario passed away on May 17, 2017 at St.
Joseph's Health Centre after a brief illness, with her family at her side.
She was born in Port Hood, Nova Scotia, to Charles and Catherine MacLennan.
She is survived by her daughters Carole McNeil (Toronto), Evelyn Gillies
(Port Hood), Elaine Gillies (Toronto), sister Sadie Murphy (Wayne) (Port
Hood), brother Harold (Harlie) (Toronto), grandson Darren McNeil (Toronto),
many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was
predeceased by her parents, Charles and Catherine MacLennan, sister Francie
Ellement, brothers Philip, Cameron, Lauchie and Lawrence.

Mary moved to Toronto where she worked for the Rowntrees/Nestles company for
more than 35 years and still had dear friends from that time. Mary loved
summers in Port Hood and picnics in High Park or by the lake with her
daughters. Mary always tuned in to the Vision TV daily mass and had a keen
interest in world events and crosswords. Mary was especially known for her
compassion, sense of humour and generosity.

Burton, for her assistance in our time of need.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Turner & Porter Funeral Home. A
Funeral Mass and burial will be celebrated at a later date in Port Hood,
Nova Scotia.
