In Celebration of Mary Gazzola (nee Truant) March 21, 1938 - February 26, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Gazzola on Sunday, February 26, 2023.
Surrounded by her immediate family, she died peacefully under the caring supervision of Ian Anderson House hospice, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Loving wife of Charles, mother to Edward (Bonnie) Gazzola, Daniel (Kathy) Gazzola, Lori Gazzola, James (Lisa) Gazzola, cherished nonna of six grandchildren Chad, Jessica, Kyler, Nicholas, Aaron and Ava, and bisnonna of Oliver.

Mary was born in Timmins, Ontario in 1938, to parents Gemma and Attilio Truant.  Mary met her sweetheart Charles in high school, wed in 1959, and they raised their family of four children in northern Ontario, until moving to Mississauga in 2014.  Mary was dedicated to her family, friends and Catholic faith, expressing her love through her cooking, painting and prayer.  Mary and her husband Charles shared a love for travel throughout their 63 years of marriage, frequently spending their summers trailering in warmer climates, and traveling to the far corners of the world.  Mary’s kindness, patience and humour were a guiding light, and she will be missed by many, living near and far.

The family would also like to extend its heartfelt thanks to Mary’s doctors, nurses, and home caregivers, whose support and companionship she cherished.

Friends may call at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10 N. of the QEW) on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 5-8 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 2340 Hurontario St., Mississauga on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 11 a.m.  The Mass will also be live streamed at the following web link:  https://stcatherine.ca/live-mass/

Dear Charlie and Family, My prayers and thoughts are with you all at this time. I have many memories of Mary how she fussed over us and always making sure we were comfortable. Her cooking was superb and we were very spoilt during the time we spent in Toronto.

Rest in Peace Mary
Love,

Peter
