May 12, 1956 -  February 23, 2023

Martin passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Princess Margaret Hospital at the age of 66. Cherished partner of Michaela. Loving father of Stefan (Carolina) and Nicole. Adored Grandpa to Maya.

Martin lived a full life doing the things he loved while helping others. He will be remembered for his generosity and dedication to his family, friends, business, and community.

Visitation will take place at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 2pm – 6 pm. Celebration of Life for Martin will take place Monday, March 6, 2023, at 3pm at Old Mill Toronto, 21 Old Mill Road. In lieu of flowers and in the spirit of Martin’s generosity, he would have encouraged the purchase of a Princess Margaret Home Lottery ticket if desired. Contributions may also be made directly to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

Stefan, Carolina, Maya, Nicole and Micha I am sending my heartfelt condolences for your loss. Marty was an icon in the fashion industry that he loved. I will fondly remember the many great dinners we shared with him (and Micha) in Germany. Rest in peace Marty. You will up the fashion game in heaven for sure!

Martin was a special friend in my life during the last 10 years of a 30 relationship. He was a calming influence and often validated some of my actions and decisions. He was honest when he did not agree with me. A true friend.
He quietly went about helping people often, without praise or the need to be recognized.
I miss him already.
My sincere condolences to the whole family, and all he touched.
