Martha Jane Smellie

September 13, 1933 -  September 10, 2019

Beloved wife of the late Bruce Alan Smellie and dearest mother of Margaret Catherine, Cynthia Jane, James Bruce Smellie and Christie Anne Zuk.

On September 10th, 3 days shy of her 86th birthday, and one last rally to enjoy dinner with her dear friend Russel Scott former Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Jane passed peacefully at her residence in Guelph.
Jane was a graduate of the St. Josephs school of nursing and devoted her skills and calling for over 25 years at Queen Street Mental Health Centre.
Jane’s passions were world wide travel, art collection and entertaining a wide circle of dear friends.
Many years were enjoyed as an avid golfer at Weston Golf and Country Club where she was blessed by the many friends and memories she made.
Jane has many fond memories of years spent at Thunder Bay Beach where she first me her future husband at the age of 5.

Her 63 year marriage to Bruce was filled with great joy and great sorrow that created a bond understood by few.

Jane is peacefully delivered to her Boonie, and reunited with Cathy and Cindy.

A private family service has been held as per Jane’s wishes. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 416-767-3153.
