In Celebration of

Martha Gregory

March 21, 1942 -  May 20, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Martha on Thursday, May 20th, 2021 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of Keith for 33 years. Loving mother of Shelley (Peter) and Karen (Grant).

Martha leaves behind her granddaughters Tian and Ana. She is survived by her sisters and brothers Kathy, Anne, Betty, Al and George and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings John, Mary and Bill.

Martha was born in Saskatchewan and lived in Alberta, Quebec and Ontario. She worked at CP Rail in a number of positions for 34 years.

Martha and Keith travelled the world including China, Australia, Europe, and Canada and took many cruises over the years. Summers were spent at the cottage. Boating, sitting by the dock with family and friends and spending endless hours weeding and tending her gardens.

Her granddaughters brought great joy and she would always be willing to play games, read books and attend dance recitals, soccer games and graduation ceremonies.

Her calm demeanor, willingness to listen and never judge, patience, ability to tackle whatever came her way, independence, and strength of character were important lessons to us all.

Due to present restrictions a private family service will take place on Saturday, May 29, 2021. For those who wish to view the service virtually, please copy this link https://youtu.be/u-oZ-ZHCkXM

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Myeloma Canada; Princess Margaret Hospital – Myeloma Research Fund; or Trillium Health Partners (Credit Valley Hospital).

I am so very sad to hear about Martha. We were friends for many years. Martha always loved to get together whenever possible despite living in different provinces. We always had a glass of wine together, relived old memories and laughed at all the fun times we had throughout the years. Martha was one of the most strong and gracious people that I have ever known. I treasured her friendship and will miss her greatly. My deepest sympathies to Keith, Shelley, Karen and their families.

Martha and I were friends since our early childhood, and after we were married, the four of us were always together. We didn't see each other very often after the family moved east, but it was like she was always there, no where in particular, just there. We had another connection when her sister Mary married my brother Don.
We did have dinner together when her and Keith visited Calgary, it was so good to see both of them. I love this photo of Martha, that is how I remember her, always smiling, just like her sister Mary.
We send our love, caring thoughts and prayers.
With Deepest Sympathy,
George and Jean Holman

Aunt Martha was always someone that I looked forward to seeing. A nice person with nice things to say. She will be missed.

Martha had an inner strength and calm, gentle personality that was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She carried the adversity of her long battle with multiple myeloma without complaint, referring to it as a challenge, and never lost her interest in the people and the world around her. May God bless her!

We will miss the many good times that we spent with you and Keith at the cottage, holidays and the visiting from your house to ours. Good food and many laughs. Rest in peace our good friend.
