In Celebration of

Marland Mann

April 6, 1931 -  September 1, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father Marland Mann on September 1, 2020 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Trudy, and son Richard, dear father to Carolyn (Keith) and Bruce (Cathy) and loving grandfather to Danielle and Nicole.

Predeceased by brothers Avard (the late Nora) and Lance (the late Norma). Fondly remembered by sisters Mary (the late Hal) (Hank), and Fleur (Al), Predeceased by his sister in law Joan (the late Ron), survived by his brother in law Richard (Isla). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Marland was born in Eckville, Alberta and moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1948 where he met his wife Trudy. In 1973 the family moved to Ontario due to a job transfer. He had a long career in the transportation industry, starting at Seaway Midwest which was later acquired by Livingston International, and then eventually owning a division of the company - C.W. Henderson - where he was president until retirement.

Marland enjoyed socializing, spending time with family and friends, travelling with his wife Trudy and spending time at the family cottages at Victoria Beach, Manitoba and Thunder Beach, Ontario. He was also an avid golfer and played regularly including a full season last year at the age of 88.

He will be greatly missed by us all, including relatives and many dear friends. A true quiet gentleman with compassion, sincerity, and a great sense of humour that will keep us smiling for a very long time.
A private celebration of life will take place in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice or your local food bank.

What a huge loss. I have known him since I was a girl and Carol and I became best friends. I was lucky to be included in many Sunday drives, and enjoyed Mr. Mann’s dry, hilarious humour.
He was a great Dad, I’m so sorry for all of you.
