I am deeply sorry for the loss of Markian Pylat (Pan Dooshko). He was in integral part of our family (the Zajac's) growing up in Montreal as our families lived on the same block and we shared many memories. Dooshko was my fathers (Dyshko) best friend and I became best friends with Steve (Pan Dooshko's son). My father (96) who lives in Calgary kept in touch and was saddened to hear of his best friends passing. We still talk about the good old days quite often and Pan Dooshko gets mentioned a lot. He was a funny man, a good man and he made us laugh. That's what it's all about.

As a child, the thing that struck me the most was Pan Dooshko's chiselled physique which he kept up and must have played a big part in reaching 99 yrs of age. An monumental achievement.

Our sincerest condolences go out to the Pylat Family, especially Chris, Roman and Steve. Pan Dooshko left us with many memories that will not be forgotten. He had an incredibly long life and for all who knew him, it is to be celebrated.

Our deepest condolences to Slawka and the Pylat family. Markian was full of life, a wonderful storyteller who never missed an opportunity to sing a beautiful Ukrainian ballad for his wife, family and friends. I’m told he was one also one helluva soccer player in his time. Вічная пам'ять
