In Celebration of

Mark David Woods

April 7, 1955 -  July 13, 2017

Mark passed away peacefully on July 13, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Mark is the beloved husband of Carolyn, the cherished father of Lindsay and Jennifer. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by siblings Bet (Doug), Peter, Bob, Sue and Jay (Karin) as well as brother-in-law Andrew (Rachel).
Mark spent his professional life dedicated to helping others. His fundraising work for major charities has left an indelible mark on our community.
The consummate Blue Jay fan, Mark applauded their victories but always kept the game in perspective.
Mark met with much success in life: a true friend to many, a wonderful brother, an accomplished fundraiser. However his major focus was always his family: Carolyn, Lindsay and Jennifer. The Mark and Carolyn Woods family is a shining example of the best attributes of life to all who know them.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be a visitation at Turner and Porter (Peel Chapel), 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga, on Sunday, July 16 between 6 and 9 pm.
Please, no flowers. If you wish donations may be made to Canadian Special Olympics or the Ian Anderson House.

To all the Woods family - I am shocked and saddened to hear about Mark. I worked closely with him a few years back with the Christ Church fundraising campaign and I know he was active with the United Church as a whole in this regard. I have moved from the Clarkson area, but as an avid dogwalker, I enjoyed passing him with our dogs in the neighbourhood and catching up. I am so very sorry.

Always enjoyed his company playing hockey Friday nights with Mark. He was great to talk to and it was obvious his family meant everything to him. Rest in peace Mark.

I was so happy to have worked with Mark at the Alzheimer Society. I learned a great deal from him. We laughed a lot while being committed to the job. We stayed in touch after he left that job and I loved seeing him at our semi-annual lunches. He will be missed. I know how much he loved his family and friends.
My sympathies are with Mark's family.
Take care.
Cathy
