In Celebration of

Marjorie Helen Ham

July 27, 1925 -  September 14, 2020

The Ham Family wishes to advise that Lt.-Colonel Marjorie Helen Ham passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence on September 14th 2020, in Mississauga, Ontario.

Born on July 27, 1925 in Montreal, Quebec, she was the daughter of Commissioner William and Florence Dray (deceased). She was the loving wife of John (deceased Jan 26, 2015), dearest mother of Terry, Bill and John and devoted grandmother of Haley, Jeff, Jenny, John-Bradley, Katherine and Lauren.

She was a committed Salvation Army Officer, who along with her husband ministered in many different appointments, notably as the Chief Secretary of the Caribbean Territory and Divisional Commander of Quebec and Eastern Ontario. She touched many lives in the service of her Lord.

For her boys though, she was always the most amazing, loving Mother. She was always there in times of need, in our sickness as children or as adults with a quiet word of encouragement, direction and understanding. Her love was unconditional.

These last years have been difficult as she dealt with a lot of physical pain and discomfort around her mobility. She showed incredible courage and resolve as she refused to have it limit her in her service and love to others either within the family or those new persons brought into her life at her residence.

Her pain has passed, she is now with her Lord in Glory, surrounded by her adoring husband, family and all those who have gone before that she has touched in her special loving way.

God bless her.

My deepest condolences to my Ham cousins on the loss of Marj - she was a truely amazing woman and always so joyful. I have many great memories of her and John from family gatherings and visits to the Hamstead Acres farm in Sudbury, the Ham farm in Schomberg, the cottage in Fenelon Falls and in North Bay. She will be missed but never forgotten. đź’•

Terry, Bill & John,

So sad to hear of your Mother’s passing, my condolences to you and your families.

Your mother, “ Mère Ham”, as she was affectionally referred to by non-Ham’s back in Winnipeg, along with your Father, were everything that love, compassion, kindness, generosity & patience could define. Truly this world’s loss.
May their memories be a continued source of strength & blessing for you all.
Sincerely,
Derrick Williams

I always considered Marjorie and John Ham my spiritual parents and it was my privilege to stay in touch with them for over 50 years. Mom Ham became a dear friend and I looked forward to speaking with her every week, for the last several years when we solved a lot of the world's problems and ills; I will miss our chats!
My thoughts go out to her family who were her absolute joy!
Lots of love,
Kathryn
