In Celebration of

Marissa Anne Chow

May 5, 1982 -  April 15, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marissa Anne Chow, age 42, who lost her courageous battle with cancer on April 15, 2025. Though her time with us was far too short, her impact on the lives of family, friends, and all who knew her was profound and lasting.

Marissa was a vibrant, compassionate, and loving woman whose strength and grace inspired everyone around her. She faced her illness with remarkable bravery and dignity, never losing her warmth or sense of humor even in her last moments with us.

Born May 5, 1982, Marissa was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, and a dedicated professional in her career as an accountant. She cherished her family and friends, always putting their happiness and well-being above her own.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew Day, her children, Malia and Ozzy, her parents, Ron and Patricia, and her best friend and sister, Lisa. She was especially close with her Uncle John, Uncle James, Auntie Margaret, and Auntie Judy. She loved her in-laws, Michael and Debrah, sister and brother-in-law Courtney and Taylor, and her many nieces and nephews who will all carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Marissa had many amazing memories traveling the world with her family growing up, making new friends wherever she went and enjoying the local culture and cuisine. She enjoyed time at the cottage on the lake doing arts and crafts with the children, watching her family ski, and was always busy planning the next family vacation. Her true passionate were people and took such comfort when she could make someone’s day better. She was happiest when in the company of her children and extended family.

Visitation is at Turner & Porter “Yorke Chapel”, 2357 Bloor Street West, Etobicoke on Thursday, April 24th 2025, from 4 - 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25th, 2025 at Our Lady of Sorrows Parrish, 3055 Bloor Street West, Etobicoke at 11 am. A celebration of her life will follow at St. George’s Golf and Country Club, 1668 Islington Avenue, Etobicoke.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, honoring Marissa’s spirit and fight.

Though we mourn her loss deeply, we celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared so generously. It was Marissa’s wish that if possible bright clothing be worn during the last visit and service to signify her joy for life.

Rest in peace, Marissa. You will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

I have known Marissa since she was a little girl, through her Mom who was my close officemate and friend. I have followed stages of her growing up until her last day. I am deeply saddened with her passing away. She lived a good and meaningful life, a people person, always pleasant to talk to. . May she rest in peace. Our prayers are with you and your loved ones.
