In Celebration of

Marion Marie Snow

November 8, 1940 -  August 31, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marion Snow at the age of 83. Marion passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Marion was a fighter up until her final days before finally succumbing to her illness.

Marion was predeceased in 2015 by her beloved husband, Bill, with whom she shared 53 incredible years of marriage. The two were inseparable, always sharing laughs and making memories with friends and family. If they weren’t parked on the couch cheering for the Blue Jays, Maple Leafs, or Raptors, it’s a good bet that you’d find Marion and Bill on vacation together or competing with friends in a bowling alley or on a golf course.

Marion was a loving mother to her two boys, Kevin (Christine), and Christopher (Eloi). In many ways Marion was the glue of the family, often proving to be the voice of reason in a house full of stubborn men. Marion was also the proud grandmother of Alexandra, whom she always talked of so glowingly. Marion’s legacy and her gentle kindness will continue to live on within each of them.

Marion was predeceased by her mother, Margaret Pitchford, stepfather, Sidney Pitchford, along with her siblings, Shirley, and Ed. She also has an older sister, Joan.

Marion spent her final year under the care of the remarkable staff at Tyndall Estates in Mississauga. This was a special moment for her family as this was the same building she started working at 49 years earlier as an office administrator, before retiring in 2005. We can’t thank the Tyndall staff enough for their exceptional care and compassion.

Family and friends will gather for a celebration of Marion’s life from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West in Toronto.

We ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either Parkinson Canada or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
