In Celebration of

Marion Kenney

April 24, 1922 - January 15, 2023

Thank you Marion

Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to Dr. E.J.R. (Bert) and Clara Pennal, brought up in Brantford, Ontario, then moved to Toronto, for work where she met James (Jim) Curtis Kenney (predeceased 2008). After a few years of moving to Montreal and Vancouver, the young couple settled in Etobicoke in 1954, and made their way through the stages of married life side by side. First came the kids..Bruce and Grant. Sport activities dominated their extracurricular pursuits. Eventually the whole family played golf. At one point there were 7 Kenneys playing at Islington Golf Club. Marion played golf into her eighties, both at Islington and Mariner Sands in Stuart, Florida. They made many friends through golf. Marion was the social convenor. A large part of Marion and Jim’s life together was the family business. Marion was the perfect support person and again they made many friends throughout the world, Spain, Norway, U.S., and Portugal. Family was important and they went on to have grandkids and great grandkids, Bruce and Corinne’s wonderful clan, Matthew, Heather, Jaxon; Lauren, Darren, Griffin and Lincoln; Nick, Aimee, Reese and Jake, and Grant and Debby’s family, Allison, Chris, Hayden, Avery; Blair, Mark and Rhiannon. Many thanks to her caregivers over this past year. A private family gathering will be held on April 24, Marion’s birthday. Marion was a highly intelligent woman, but with a humility that endeared her to all. She has lived a long and beautiful life, but we will still shed a tear for our loss and smile because it happened. If desired, remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice.
