In Celebration of

Marija Juric

February 26, 1933 -  July 14, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marija Juric. She was a devoted daughter, caring sister, loving wife, nurturing mother, and doting grandmother. Above all, she exemplified the values of her Christian faith in every aspect of her life. Her gentle spirit and warm heart touched the lives of all who knew her.

Born in Solin – Croatia, Marija embarked on a journey to Canada in the late 1950s, seeking new opportunities and a better life. She embraced her new home while cherishing the memories and traditions of her beloved homeland. Together with her husband, Stipe (deceased), they created a loving and God-centered home for their three children where faith in God and a love for their Croatian roots were the foundation of their lives.

Marija was a devoted mother who instilled in her children the importance of honoring their roots, appreciating their heritage, and always remembering where they came from. She passed on her unwavering faith in God, teaching them the values of Christianity, compassion, and kindness. Her faith guided her every action and served as a beacon of hope and strength for her family.

Her dedication to hard work and determination became an enduring legacy within her family. Marija led by example, teaching her family the value of perseverance and the rewards that come from giving their best in all they pursued. She instilled in them the belief that with God's grace and their own efforts, they could overcome any obstacle and achieve their dreams.

As a grandmother, Marija found immense joy in the company of her grandchildren. She not only showered them with love and wisdom but also nourished their souls with the teachings of her faith. Her unconditional love will forever remain etched in their hearts, and her memory will be cherished by each generation that follows.

In addition to being a pillar of strength and love within her family, Marija touched the lives of countless others through her acts of kindness. She had a genuine interest in people and possessed a remarkable ability to make everyone feel seen, valued, and loved. Her compassion knew no bounds, and she embraced the teachings of Christ by treating others with respect, generosity, and empathy.

Today, as we mourn the loss of our mother, we also celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. Her kindness, faith, and unwavering commitment to living a life guided by Catholic Christian values will continue to inspire us to live with grace, love, and compassion. May her soul find eternal peace in the arms of our Heavenly Father and may her memory forever be a blessing in our lives.

It was always a pleasure to see Baba whenever visiting Rob and Zrinka. She always had a smile and kind words every time I stopped by. She will be greatly missed.

Such a wonderful lady. Caring. Generous. Just an easy person to be around. I loved chatting with her and hearing the stories of her youth and early days in Canada. Or sitting back and listening to her and my mom cackle away at some silly thing their grandkids had done. And boy could she cook! Can’t count the times I came over and did a little dance because Baba had made the rice dish I loved. There was love in the food she prepared. There was love in all that she did. She will be missed. But what great memories she has left with us. You were lucky to have her Juric family, and the rest of us were lucky you shared her with us. Take care.
