With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Marie Lourdes FitzGerald (née Henry) at the age of 95.

Marie is now reunited with her beloved husband, Frank (predeceased 2019), and cherished daughter, Karen (predeceased 2015). She leaves behind her loving children Barry (Dolores), Glenn (Pauline), and Lisa (Michael); treasured grandchildren Rachel (Joe), Jeremy, Daniel, and Tyler; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Thomas William Ora Henry (1966) and Mary Ethel Henry (née Bateman) (1976), and her ten siblings, being the youngest of eleven and the last to pass on.

Born and grew up in Campbellton, New Brunswick, Marie moved to Toronto in 1946, where she met Frank in 1955 on a blind date arranged by a mutual friend. They married on September 15, 1956, and shared over 62 wonderful years together. Marie built a fulfilling career with Kodak, General Electric (GE), and the Toronto School Board.

Marie had a passion for reading, solving crosswords and word searches, and enjoying music. A devoted Roman Catholic, her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Family meant everything to her, and as our cherished matriarch, her laughter and warm smile will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.

Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional caregivers and the entire team at Lakeside Long Term Care for their kindness, dedication, and support.

Family and friends are invited to Turner & Porter “Yorke” Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. Prayers at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish, 1372 King Street West, Toronto on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 10 a.m.

Interment at Beechwood Cemetery, 7241 Jane St, Concord.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marie’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
