In Celebration of

Mariano Jacob

December 19, 1941 -  April 2, 2023

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mariano Jacob. Born in Saõ Miguel, Açores on December 19, 1941. God called onto Mariano on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023. He passed away peacefully at the age of 81.

Mariano was a beloved husband of 54 years to Maria Do Rosario Teixeira Jacob, Loving father to John (Grace), Paula (Sid), Frank (Diana) and Stephen (Sandy). He will be greatly missed by his 10 grandchildren Matthew, Andrew, Megan, Sarah, Adam, Kevin, Joshua, Alexandra, Noah and Julianna.

He immigrated to Canada, and worked hard to build a good life. He was a devoted husband and a dedicated father who provided his family with love and demonstrated the importance of family. He was a simple man and devout Catholic who lived a modest life.

What Mariano loved most was having his children and grandchildren all gathered together at the table to enjoy a meal prepared by his loving wife. He loved spending time outdoors looking after his pigeons, rabbits and was always so proud of his garden..so much so, that you couldn’t leave without taking something home with you. But for those who really knew him, sitting with a glass of wine while watching a Benfica game was his best pass time.

He left us suddenly and took a piece of our hearts with him, but knowing that his suffering has come to an end brings us all great comfort.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy 10 N. of Q.E.W) on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 5-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Cristo Rei Parish, 3495 Confederation Pkwy, Mississauga on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at Turner & Porter "Peel Chapel" at 1 p.m.
