It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Checko on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the age of 94. Predeceased by her husband Tadeusz Checko (d. 1994) who she married on June 24, 1950, and her youngest son Chester (d. 1976).

Survived by her two remaining children, Henry (Nancy) Checko and Teresa (Roman) Czarnik, and two granddaughters, Iwona (David) Kostuk and Krystyna Czarnik.

We would like to thank all the staff at Valley Manor in Barry’s Bay, Ontario, for the great care they provided since February 2019. Thank you to Warren Heubner of Heubner Funeral Home in Barry’s Bay and Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel in Toronto for the help and guidance with the arrangements between Barry’s Bay and Toronto.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, from 7-9pm on Sunday, September 22, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Casimir’s Parish on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 10am. Interment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.
