Passed away peacefully on October 22nd, 2018 at Copernicus Lodge at age 86. Beloved mother of Henry Galas with wife Doris, Diane McFarland and Arthur Galas. Dear grandmother of Stacy, Henry, Christopher, Justin, Robbi, Stephanie, Ricky and Daniel. Great grandmother to Joseph and Remy. Survived by her brother Bolek Batycki in Poland. One of eight children, Marysia was born in Poland to Jan and Rozalia Batycki and emigrated to Canada in 1960 with Kazimierz Galas. Marysia was determined to battle Alzheimer's and did so bravely for over 17 years.
Family and friends may visit at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. on Thursday, October 25th from 2-4 p.m., prayers at 3 p.m., and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 26th, at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church, 156 Roncesvalles Ave., at 10 a.m. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery section "K".
