Maria Fatima Castro

February 24, 1947 - January 30, 2025

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mom Maria Fatima Castro.

Fatima passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her home on Thursday January 30th at the age of 77 after a long battle with cancer. Fatima was a devoted wife to her husband Joao (d. 2018), loving mother to her children Alex (Ryan) and Tania (Nuno) and doting grandmother to her two grandchildren Aria and Evan.

Fatima left her island of Madeira in 1968 and traveled to Aruba where her husband then joined her. They would then travel to Canada where they built a beautiful life full of family, laughter and love. She loved nothing more than being in her garden and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and infectious laugh.

We love you and will miss you always.

My sincere condolence in the name of my mother Benigna ,children and grandchilderen
She wasn't only cousins they were like sisters
My mom and prima Fatima was born on the same month and year ,my mom 13 Feb 1947 and prima Fatima 24 Feb 1947
They grew up together in Madeira till when my mom was 12 almost 13 year ,65 years ago when ,my mom family decided to imigrate to Aruba
After many years prima Fatima came to live in Aruba and after when to Canada.
Always in touch with each other
Talking to each other every week on messenger.
Prima Fatima was a real fighter
She will be remembered with that smile on her face , like to sing and bake her bolo de mel
