In Celebration of

Maria Dores Neves Amendoeira

January 28, 1966 -  August 23, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Amendoeira at the young age of 58, who peacefully left us on August 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Maria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend whose love, warmth, and kindness touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Born on January 28, 1966 in Santa Maria da Feira, Aveiro, Portugal, Maria was the cherished daughter of Americo Neves and Ana Pereira Da Silva. She grew up with a strong sense of family and carried that into her adult life, where she dedicated herself to her own family with unwavering love and devotion.

As a wife, Maria was the beloved partner of Manuel Amendoeira for 40 wonderful years. Their marriage was built on love, respect, and shared dreams. Together, they created a home filled with joy, laughter, and mutual support, facing life’s challenges hand in hand. Their partnership was a true testament to the power of love and commitment, and their bond will be everlasting.

As a mother, Maria was a source of strength, guidance, and unconditional love to her children, Stephanie and Jason. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support guided them through life’s challenges, and her lessons in kindness, integrity, and resilience will continue to inspire them.

As a grandmother, Maria found immense joy in her grandchildren, Sophia, Adriana, Alessia and Isla. She enjoyed every moment spent with them, offering endless love, encouragement, and they had a special bond that will be remembered forever.

Maria’s presence brought comfort and happiness to all who were lucky enough to know her. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcomed. Her home was a place of warmth and love, where family and friends could gather to create lasting memories.

She is survived by her devoted husband, her loving children, her adored grandchildren, her beloved father and her cherished sisters. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her, and her legacy of love, strength, resilience and family will continue to inspire and guide us. She will be deeply missed.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy 10 N. of Q.E.W) on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 6-9 p.m. A Funeral to honour and celebrate Maria’s life will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at St. Dominc's Parish, 625 Atwater Avenue, Mississauga at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, a cause that is dear to our hearts.

Even though I only knew Maria for a short time, I liked her from the first time we spoke. Her words, her mannerisms and the look in her eyes were true indicators of her ability to be a good listener and a person who seemed to Care, which is a wonderful characteristic for a person to have.
Speaking with Maria was always very easy, she made me feel comfortable, she gave me the feeling that I could be open with her and not worry about what I say.

Her beautiful smile was radiant, instantly making me want to smile right back to her.
That smile only grew and intensified when family came. With her Grandchildren, I could see her love for them flowed endlessly.

Through our journey in life we meet people along the way. I feel very fortunate to have met Maria, even though it was only for a short time, and I feel I am a better person because of it.
Maria will always be with me in memory.......and her memory will always put a smile on my face.
Sleep well Maria.

Maria. So many ways to define this wonderful person. Funny, loving, caring, STRONG, unapologetically Maria! I was blessed to know her and I can confidently say anyone who did, feels the same way. I have never and probably will never know anyone like her. She always put in 100% in whatever she did. She loved hard and everyone around her felt it. I was so lucky to have known her and have her as a part of our lives. I know we will never forget the amazing aunt, godmother and friend that she was to us and the amazingly dedicated mother, grandmother, wife, sister and daughter she was to her family. She will always be in our hearts and her memory will forever live on.
To Stephanie, Jason and Manuel, we cannot express in words how deeply sorry we are for your loss. Your strength and support with each other, through this trying time proved how strong your love and bond is as as a family.
Stay strong and God bless.
